DESIGN OF THE KISS BRIDGE (CẦU HÔN) PHU QUOC

The Kiss Bridge is situated in South Phu Quoc Island’s Sunset Town. It is expected to be the brand-new “Icon of Vietnam Tourism” and “New Check-in Point of the World”. This art work is created by architect Marco Casamonti and inspired by the romance story “Nguu Lang Chuc Nu” combining between Vietnamese and Italian cultures in the Island of Paradise Pearl.
WHO BUILT THE BRIDGE?
KISS BRIDGE is an artwork by architect Marco Casamonti, the Italian government’s cultural and artistic representative in Vietnam. So, Casamonti spent two years developing the idea and refining the design. With a length of up to 810 meters and a total weight of up to 5,000 tons of steel, this enormous structure required half as much steel as the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

INSPIRATION OF KISS BRIDGE PHU QUOC
The heartwarming tale of Niu Lang (Altair) and Zhi Nu (Vega) who reunites yearly for a short time on the O Thuoc bridge serves as the inspiration for Kiss Bridge (Cau Hon), which is situated on the south-west coast of Phu Quoc Island.
But the Kiss Bridge will be the location where couples meet, share the most romantic kisses, and feel the emotions of love. And while the Kiss Bridge is a sign of unending love, it is also evidence of a close and enduring friendship.
SUMMARY OF “NGUU LANG CHUC NU” STORY?
It is story between The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl in Vietnam.
Niu Lang is described as a young cowherd who is impoverished and orphaned. He unintentionally came across seven lovely weaving fairies taking a swim in the lake and interacting joyfully with one another while cow-herding. He stole the clothing from the younger sister, who he had a crush on, with the bull’s encouragement. That girl is Ngoc Hoang’s youngest daughter – Chuc Nu.
The smallest girl had to stay behind to look for items and grieve by herself since her sisters had to go back to the sky first. Niu Lang became upset upon seeing this and was forced to tell her the whole truth while returning the clothes to her. He didn’t neglect to declare his sincerity and his wish to wed her either. Zhi Nu accepted since it was too late to go back to heaven and because she thought the man was sincere and attractive. The two continued to coexist happily on earth after that.
Ngoc Hoang, however, ordered warriors to earth to return his youngest daughter to heaven after discovering of her disappearance. Niu Lang wanted to find his wife, so he took two kids to do it. But after the Mother Queen found her, she marked the Milky Way as the border between the two realms. Niu Lang, who was determined not to give up, made the choice to stay there until Zhi Nu returned.
Touched by their feelings, Vuong Mau (Queen Mother) allowed Niu Lang and Zhi Nu to meet once a year on That Tich Day (on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month) on the O Thuoc bridge created by the crows.
