Today, many travelers dream of seeing the Golden Hand Bridge in the Ba Na Hills. Since it opened in June 2018, millions of people around the globe have come and walked across this incredible Bridge. Everyday, of course, there is an uncountable number of tourists who intend to walk on it and take beautiful images of its majestic Golden Hands Bridge. How to get Golden Bridge from Da Nang?

The Golden Bridge lies 41 kilometers northwest of Da Nang’s center. It takes approximately 1 hr 30 minutes to get there from hotels along the My Khe Beach, Da Nang city, Vietnam. As you are traveling by automobile, it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. And the cost of a private car for round – way trip with the pick up and drop off at hotel currently starts at 1,000,000 VND (one million Vietnamese Dong). Many travelers stop in the Marble Mountains on their way back to Da Nang for convenience. Self-driving a motorcycle is a preferable option for budget-conscious travelers. Public buses are available in Da Nang city, the customers can wait and book the bus at Da Nang airport with early departure and return from Ba Na Hills back to Da Nang in the afternoon. The last bus is at 19:30 creating a favorable chance for people traveling with low – budget. In addition, there are various tour companies in Da Nang that tourist can book for day trip.

During the bright months (early March to August), Ba Na Hills opens at 8:00 a.m. So, the optimum time to visit the Golden Bridge from Da Nang is 7:00 a.m. To travel this early time, you need to take the public bus or take Grab car or Grab motorbike for your journey. In addition, private transportation is another option for you. Thus, Ba Na Hills at this time of year expect to have more sun and blue sky, sometimes it has shower rain/thunderstorm rain in months of May to July.

On the other hands, during the rest of the year, from September to February, Ba Na Hills is typically rainy and overcast, sometime it’s cold. If you wish to travel this time of year, you need to prepare well for your adventure.

How To Travel From Da Nang To Ba Na Hills

Whether you stay in Da Nang or Hoi An, renting a motorcycle is simple as long as you can ride and have a license. The price fluctuates between 100,000 and 250,000 VND, depending on the type and provider. This is the fee for a one-day rental, excluding gasoline and accident insurance.

From Da Nang, choose the fastest route to the Ba Na-Suoi Mo road and then continue it to the Ba Na Hills Station. That road is large and smooth, with beautiful views (wooded hills, lakes, and clouds).

Reaching Ba Na Hills from the guidance of google maps, Motorcycle (and bicycle) parking is available near the Ba Na Hills entrance gate. There is no parking cost for guests. Make sure you get your card from security man and remember where your motorcycle is located so it is easy to find it when you finish the tour.

Ba Na Hills Cable Cars to the Golden Bridge

There are five cable cars that take passengers up to the Ba Na hills, but only one takes them to the Golden Bridge. The cable car connects the Hoi An and Marseille stations. If this station is closed for maintenance or other reasons, they must use other stations farther up the hill and take the cable car down to see the Golden Bridge. Of course, the distance to the Golden Bridge will be greater.

Directions from Ticket Counters to Cable Car Stations

Whether travelers purchase tickets at on-site counters or through travel agencies, they must enter the Main Gate further behind on arrival in Ba Na Hills. To the right, there is an escalator (next to the Starbucks coffee store) leads to a higher terrace with the Hoi An garden. After exiting this escalator, turn left, continue, then turn left again to enter the covered walkway. It is possible to observe the beautiful alleys of Hoi An ancient town (just as they seem in reality), koi fish ponds on one side, and stores selling of Vietnamese local specialties on the other. Finally, the staff will greet you and you make left turn to cable car station. The 10 – minute cable car will lead you up to the Golden Hands Bridge.

Visitors who travel from the Hoi An station will arrive at the Marseille station 10 minutes later. Then, it’s necessary to stroll upstairs and take an escalator to the Dome. On rainy or overcast days, the steps and floors are slippery, so be cautious. The entrance to the Golden Bridge can be found on the right side of the Dome. Visitors can get hot and cold drinks (coffee, tea, milk tea, beer, etc.), food, souvenirs, massage chairs, and information from English-speaking staff. If it rains outside, rain ponchos and umbrellas are for sale.

What You Should Know Before Visiting the Golden Bridge

The Golden Hands Bridge is suitable for all tourists and ages. Watch cautious for the step slope at the beginning of the bridge. Because everyone is so thrilled, there are so many people standing there, and it is definitely congested. Visitors should go to the end of the Bridge and line up to take beautiful pictures of the Bridge. If not, there is a pathway (next to the platform where people usually stand) leading you down hill. Here, you can have more space to take pictures of this icon.

Before visiting the Golden Bridge, visitors should be aware of the following rules: no touching with their hands, no walking on or damaging the flowers by the hand rails, no smoking, and no throwing rubbish on the bridge. And please be careful of your belongings as the Bridge is quite jammed.

Is Golden Bridge wheelchair accessible?

Wheelchair users can navigate the Golden Bridge without difficulty. They can drive to the Ba Na hills, then walk on flat land and use escalators to any cable car station. When using the wheelchair, using at least 2 people to lift up the wheelchair. If you do not have wheelchair, you can rent it at the main gate entrance with a fee deposit of 100 USD. However, this deposit will be returned to you when you finish the tour and return it to the Customer service of Ba Na Hills.

Traveling with cable cars is simple, and the cabins are large enough to accommodate wheelchairs and individuals. The Golden Bridge is also even, allowing a large number of users to sight and photograph. The rest of the hill station is not too tough to navigate if they have assistance from relatives or friends.

Best Way To Visit Golden Bridge From Da Nang

Ba Na Hills is home to so many attractions than just the Golden Bridge. Visitors will visit the old French villa, Le Jardin d’Amour Flower garden ,Debay wine cellar, the maze garden, the 27-meter-tall Gautama Buddha, and the Linh Ung Pagoda. The wine cellar, built in 1923, is one of the few remaining structures from the previous French hill station.

Another important part of the Ba Na hills is known as the “French village”. To get there, guests must take the cable car up. The cable car ride to the French settlement is 2 minutes. Here, visitors can visit the Fantasy Theme Park, which offers exciting games and performances to keep all members of the family/group entertained for a few hours.

On the ground, visitors can meander around the Du Dume square, visit the Saint Denis church, and explore the community and coffee shops, fast food outlets and eateries stand around. There is a new place called The Helios Fountain where visitors can come to take nice pictures. There is a Brewery House next to the fountain where you can sample some free beers (free beer coupon).

There is a summit in Ba Na Hills where visitors can climb up and enjoy the best view of Ba na Hills and French Village at the height of 1.487 meter.

There is a new castle “The Lunar Castle” where visitors can go downstairs by elevator inside Aparang restaurant and take the tramp to the Lunar Castle. Here, visitors can go the 3rd floor to enjoy a 4-D movie “Flying Eyes”.

Food Options in Ba Na Hills

Many guests enjoy lunch at a buffet restaurant near the Ba Na hills. There are several food alternatives to pick from, such as vegetables, traditional Vietnamese cuisine, desserts, fruits, and more. Some popular eateries are Arapang, Little Tokyo, Beer Plaza, Taiga, and Beer plaza (opening hours vary depending on the season!). All of these are located in the French village on a separate hilltop than the Golden Bridge. Purchasing tickets in advance will result in a lower price. The combination of Ba Na Hills admission fee, cable cars, and buffet lunch costs 1,140,000 VND for adults and people above 1,4 meters tall. Parents will pay 860,000 VND for youngsters with heights ranging from 1 to 1.4 meters. Kids under 1 meters high are free of charge.

Visitors who are vegan, vegetarian, on a diet, or do not want a large lunch can order from restaurants offering menus. Once again, all of the venues of this type are located in the French village. Fast food (hot dogs, sandwiches) and BBQ (ostrich, meat, etc.) are sold along the hill station’s main roadways.

Get Back to Da Nang

Visitors often descend the mountain from the French village. There are two stations where cable cars may take visitors directly to the plain: Indochine by the Sunworld globe and Taiga beside the Taiga restaurant. If you choose the first station, you’ll be able to return to the entrance gate and see the driver more quickly. Parking spots in front of the Ba Na Hills entrance are only for buses and vans, particularly during peak tourist seasons. If you travel by a sedan car, a free shuttle bus transports guests to parking lot. If you’re going alone, make sure you have the phone number or whatsapp of the driver for contact.
